The Fallen Warriors Update adds the ability to become permanently xanafied, an early form of translation on Earth with a new Tower Attack relating to it, black Monsters and the ability to free permanently xanafied warriors, along with other minor changes and bugfixes.
Overvehicles are replaced by black monsters with different energy costs.
Code XANA can be used to activate towers in exchange for energy or to take over enemy towers for free.
XANA will automatically send out a random available xanawarriors to the tower or Sector Five when a tower or core attack starts.
A maximum of 5 xanawarriors can be on the server at once. If a 6th one appears, one of the others will be automatically freed from XANA.
Xanawarriors will be sent to XANA's Void whenever they are devirtualized or fall into the digital sea.
Xanawarriors can steal energy from their enemies by devirtualizing them.
The appearance of every weapon of every class will be changed.
Xanawarriors have a "relation level" with XANA that changes depending on their actions (raises the more they devirtualize enemies, reduces when they get devirtualized), deciding how XANA will speak to them. There are a total of 85 lines currently that use this system.
Xanawarriors will automatically be freed when joining the server after 48 hours.
XANA's Void is where xanawarriors will remain while inactive.
Xanawarriors will have a cooldown whenever they enter the Void. It will be harsher if they were devirtualized instead of falling into the digital sea.
Energy will be saved if the xanawarrior enters the Void through the digital sea. It will, however, be lost if they are devirtualized.
If there are no Lyokowarriors online, a prompt will appear asking if the xanawrrior wants to abandon XANA or wait for someone.
A terminal can be opened through the same keybinds as the virtual menu (Shift + L by default) with different actions to execute:
Reading XANA's Files, explaining everything there is to know about being permanently xanafied.
Virtualization within any of the Virtual Worlds infected by XANA (currently, all of them always are). Unavailable if a xanawarrior is already active outside of the Void.
Materialization through Lyoko's Scanners to cause damage, but with a timer before they lose contact with XANA, freeing them. It can be reduced further by knocking the xanawarrior out. Unavailable if a xanawarrior is already active outside of the Void.
Translation to the factory, launching a Translated Xanawarrior attack, but with the risk of allowing warriors of the Lyoko Faction to collect the Knowledge necessary to free them. Unavailable if a xanawarrior is already active outside of the Void.
Changing their virtual class.
Opening their settings, as the keybind has been replaced by the terminal.
XANA can start an attack translating a random xanawarrior currently in the Void to Earth. Xanawarriors can also manually start it.
The xanawarrior will appear at the factory with all their virtual powers available.
The xanawarrior can damage hardware like the supercomputer circuits and scanner fuses.
If the xanawarrior's health is depleted, they will explode like a spectre and become extremely slow until they regenerate.
If the tower is deactivated, the xanawarrior will virtualize in front of it.
Lyokowarriors will be able to obtain data from the Translation process within the tower's menu. Up to three players can obtain the knowledge to save a xanawarrior.
If the xanawarrior uses the scanners to virtualize while translated, the tower will automatically deactivate and the Translation process will be temporarily replaced by a Data Remnant process which can also grant the same knowledge.
Any player with the liberation knowledge can use the Remote Tower Control program from the laboratory to temporarily launch a liberation process while the xanawarrior is virtualized. The tower does not need to be activated to execute the process.
The liberation process lasts for a limited amount of time. The knowledge is consumed upon launch, so the data must be collected again to re-acquire the knowledge in the case of a failure
If the xanawarrior is devirtualized or hits the digital sea while the process is active, they will be freed from XANA and will devirtualize through a scanner.
If the xanawarrior was already falling towards the digital sea when the process is launched, a Manta will virtualize to save them.
Added a spawn boost feature to the Scyphozoa. Deactivating a XANA tower will grant the player a +5% chance boost for a Scyphozoa to spawn on their next random monster ambush, but will revert back to the usual 1% if it fails until they deactivate a tower again, increasing the boost which cumulates with all previous ones until it caps at 75% or a Scyphozoa spawns and resets it to 0%. If the Scyphozoa spawns through the classic 1% chance, the boost will be halved instead of reset to 0.
Destroying a sector after being xanafied by the Scyphozoa will instantly raise its spawn boost to 50%.
The Scyphozoa drain duration will now be faster if it is a xanafication (3 minutes -> 1 minute and 30 seconds.)
Sector Five's maze timer will now extend when a Scyphozoa catches a warrior within it.
The Scyphozoa will no longer appear while there is only one player in the Lyoko Faction.
Temporarily xanafied warriors will now be able to activate more than one tower.
Temporarily xanafied warriors will no longer be able to prevent tower deactivation if they are inside the tower, allowing them to deactivate their own tower if they wish to do so.
Xanafied skins and weapons will now only apply to permanently xanafied warriors.
Warriors temporarily xanafied by a tower will now deal less damage to the core.
Possession Attacks can not happen while there is a permanently xanafied warrior.
The damage and cooldown of monsters during a core attack will now depend on XANA's AI level.
Core attacks now end after not receiving damage after one minute, preventing stalling of core attacks.
Players can now start a vote to destroy a surface sector if they have the knowledge to do so, obtained by destroying a sector with Code XANA after being xanafied by the Scyphozoa. All Lyokowarriors must agree for it to be successful.
Sectors destroyed through a vote or Code XANA will now start a Terrain Generation software error, preventing usage of the Sector Builder program. Their data will also need to be collected from the waytowers that originally led to this sector.
Added new Nail Gun & Nail items to use as ranged weapons on Earth.
Added Heavy-Duty Boots item as a counter to the Antigravity attack.
The main dev of this update (C_Callie) jokingly calls this update the "Bugfixes & Quality of Life Update disguised as a Permanent Xanafication Update".
This update was slowly teased through social media and the Discord Server through a "XANA Takeover", in which the icons turned red and the banners showed XANA's Void with the terminal slowly approaching each day with daily posts written in the perspective of XANA, showing the events that led to William's permanent xanafication.
This update marked the first addition of advancements since The Lost Partition update, more than a year ago in December 2024.
