¶ Sector Five
Sector Five is the most important sector of Lyoko. It contains the Skid Garage along with the Skidbladnir, as well as a maze and the core of Lyoko.
This sector is unique as it only has one Tower and no waytowers.
¶ The Arena
The arena is the starting point of Sector Five. You will be sent there when virtualizing to this sector or when taking the Transporter.
From there, you can choose to enter the maze by going forwards or to go directly to the Skid Garage by going backwards.
¶ The Skid Garage & The Skidbladnir
The Skid Garage is the location in which the Skidbladnir is kept. The submarine can be entered by jumping in the middle of the energizing platform.
Once inside the vehicle, you will be able to enter the Network and access the Volcano Replika, the Cortex, Old Lyoko and the Taiga Replika. More Replikas will be available in the future, and some special ones may even appear during events.
¶ The Maze
The maze is the largest and most challenging part of Sector Five.
¶ Keys
The maze will start a countdown upon entering it. You will have to find the key before it gets to zero, otherwise the maze will start closing, crushing everyone inside in most cases.
The default timer is 10 minutes, however the countdown will lose 2 minutes per destroyed surface sector. XANA may also launch Software Attacks capable of affecting the timer.
Keys have a multitude of different rooms they can spawn in, but the Future Flash and the WarriorSense can be used to find them. Each key also has an ID attached to it that you can memorize, which can be found through the Maze Timer Program.
Once the key is pressed, you will be able to access the celestial dome and Sector Five's tower.
¶ Hostage Rooms
Hostage rooms are special rooms in the maze that will lock players inside whenever the maze timer reaches zero instead of crushing them.
The only ways out are either devirtualization or waiting for someone else to find the next maze key.
¶ The Tower
Sector Five contains one tower. It is only accessible once the maze key is pressed.
Despite this tower being tower 1, it is not a waytower and can not execute actions such as inputting Code EARTH or saving someone from the Frontier.
¶ The Celestial Dome
The celestial dome is the exterior of Sector Five. It is only accessible once the maze key is pressed and riding the elevator.
From the bridge, you can open Sector Five's interface. Thanks to it, you can perform several different actions:
- Frontier Rescue (unlike towers, you will not have to wait for the rescue to complete).
- Overvehicle Summon, even if you do not have enough Energy for one.
- DNA Repair, allowing you to fix certain issues that towers can not.
- Send Energy to the Supercomputer.
- Tunnel Management, allowing you to leave Sector Five using an Overvehicle. If the sector the tunnel leads to is unavailable (destroyed or flooded by a software attack), it will instead lead to the Shell.
- Software Debugging, to prepare a patch for software attacks.
You can also use an Overvehicle to access the core chamber.
¶ The Core Chamber
The core chamber is the room in which the core of Lyoko is hidden. If it is destroyed, every sector will vanish, but they can be rebuilt using the Sector Builder program, unlocked through Knowledge.
XANA will sometimes attempt to attack the core to destroy Lyoko. However, it is protected by two shields, which will buy players time to kill all the Monsters. Xanafied players can also start a core attack and damage the core alongside the monsters that will spawn.
Players can check the core's health and its safety status from the lab through the Core Status program. They will also receive a message once the first shield is destroyed to warn about the attack.
If a tower is activated by XANA, heartbeats will be emanating from the core.
¶ Trivia
- There was an old version of Sector Five before the Uncharted Territory update. It was extremely small and had no maze timer, and has now been repurposed for Old Lyoko.
- When this version of Sector Five was originally released, the elevator was a simple button that teleported players directly to the celestial dome. The elevator wasn't added until two years later in the Elevated Functions update.
