A William fight was thought of very early in development by Kaz. This feature was probably scrapped due to the development and focus of the project moving forward and it being forgotten.
William would've had a 33% chance of appearing on an activated Tower, and its fight would've had 3 outcomes.
If William was devirtualized, he would have simply disappeared.
If the player was defeated by William, the player would've been Xanafied and taken on his role instead until devirtualized.
Freeing William would be possible by using the Sector Five interface with an action called “William's Cure”, after its use, you'd have 60 seconds to devirtualize and free William.
Additionally, a note block cover of William's theme was created by Kaz to play while near William in-game. This theme, however, never made it to the game.
Passive quirks were going to be lingering permanent effects or abilities that Classes would have while virtualized. This feature never moved past the concept stage due to it possibly being more annoying than helpful.
Only 2 passive quirks for classes were ever written down:
Feline was planned to have a resistance effect or a random dodge ability.
A class representing Jeremy was considered for the Elevated Functions update, but it was scrapped because it was not fun to play with and its limitations were too restricting while offering very little benefit. It was also scrapped due to the consensus being that classes should only affect the virtual state of a player, while Operator only affected the earth side.
Operator class would've had the following features:
Only selectable through Jeremy's room, unlike the rest which are selected through the AvatarProgram. This made it too different from the rest and inconsistent.
Operators wouldn't have been able to go virtualize. Making them cancel their self virtualizations and adding a failsafe for scanners to Frontier them if another player virtualized them.
Operators would've had better use of some Supercomputer programs like the Virtual Map, having greater resolution or unlocking more programs remotely with the Laptop.
This feature was never fully finished due to its complexity detecting and changing the interface's state when changing whoever used on it.
Operators were also meant to have better handiness over the hardware of the lab, being able to fix it more efficiently. This, however, never moved past the concept and its implementation wasn't considered before it was scrapped.
Some of the Operator translation strings still remain in the resource pack:
“scanner.operator.coward” → “I... I cannot do it. My place is at the interface.”
This string would've appeared when clicking to virtualize yourself inside of a Scanner.
“scanner.operator.okyouvirtedsomehow” → “Whoever virtualized you messed up!”
This string would've appeared when someone else managed to virtualize you from the interface if you were idle in a scanner.
The nuclear power of the Supercomputer is a value that exists in the code and is linked to the physical state of its battery. This value is reflected in the Supercomputer Status program but it never changes from 100%.
Currently, the battery can only be taken out by an administrator if the Supercomputer is turned off. If the battery is out or at 0%, the Supercomputer will automatically shut down and not turn on until changed.
The final functionality of the power and nuclear battery is still not finished nor functional, but developers want to tie it to the energy system.
One of the implementation problems with the nuclear battery is reliably obtaining a new nuclear battery to replace the old one.
A scanner injection mode, just like diagnosis and transference, exists in the code since the Elevated Functions update. This scanner injection mode would be accessed from the Scanners Manager program and would be used to inject data into the players inside of it.
The feature would work by selecting a packet to inject and executing the scan, this process, however, could fail in many ways if not done correctly.
The following translation strings currently exist in the server for this process:
“scanner.injection.hint”: “Right click to start a data injection.”
Appears while standing in a scanner awaiting for injection.
Appears after a data injection has been utilized successfully.
“scanner.injection.nullpacket”: “The injection failed because there was no data to inject!”
This message appears if an injection is executed without having selected any packets to inject first.
“scanner.injection.packetfail”: “The data injection failed!”
This message appears if an injection fails due to specific issues with the data to inject, such as already having it, multiple players in the scanner or the warrior not having the correct state required for it.
Currently, admins can only administer a few debug packets that exist for the only purpose of testing, these ones being injecting DNA Issues and injecting a cure for them.
Permanent Xanafication can technically be obtained by joining the XANA faction using administrator powers, however, it's impossible to exit this state without relogging.
Permanently Xanafied players will:
Be considered Xanafied by the code, they won't, however, display any features of possession like smoke, disguise mode, lightning or powers while materialized.
Spectres part of the Lyoko faction can technically be created using commands. They will act just like the usual spectre: they will fight xanafied players and respawn a while after being killed, with their particles being green.
There can also be spectres taking on the appearance of players.
An unused Earth weapon has been in the code since the Elevated Functions update, which has been teased for a long time and is planned to see the light of day when the next version of Kadic rolls around.
Removed features are elements that were eliminated from the game following an update due to them being deprecated or replaced with another more useful feature.
Before the I/O Update, terminals like the tower's, Sector Five Transporter or Sector Five's main terminal would consist of floating text with a simple interaction when clicking on it.
The Nightmare Forest sector, also known as the Nightmare Realm, was a sector temporarily available all the way back in 2017, the very first year of the server's life. It was an old version of the first Forest sector using mycelium, grey trees and mushrooms in the theme of Halloween.
