The Elevated Functions Update is an update that's divided into 3 main individual parts: The Lab Update, The XANA Rework Part 2 and the Elevator Update.
The interface has been completely reworked. Opening more than one program at once is now possible, as well as resizing and dragging program windows around. For more information on the programs, see the Interface Programs page.
The holomap will now automatically change to the holosphere when Sector 5's maze is open. Additionally, it can be interacted with through a program in the interface.
The supercomputer will now have 14 extra ports dedicated to quantum circuit boards. The status of the supercomputer can be checked through a new program in the interface.
Circuits can be damaged during the MIB attack or when a xanafied player sabotages them. If all the circuits are broken, the supercomputer will begin to meltdown. Returning to the past back to a state where all the circuits are fixed or replacing all of them will stop the meltdown sequence and prevent a game over.
Broken circuits will cause several problems:
Virt deterioration (Causes increased tiredness and DNA issue chance)
Vehicle corruption (Causes vehicles to become unavailable outside of S5)
Computing speed decrease (Causes double cooldown on powers)
Turning off the SC will now also unpower the scanners fully, making devirtualization deadly. Players in Lyoko will get a warning message when the SC is unpowered.
Scanners have had many changes. They now incorporate a new health diagnosis mode which can be accessed via program in the interface and have scanner boxes.
Health diagnosis mode will give feedback on any DNA or Annex issues that the scanned warrior possesses, same way as a health scan in a tower does.
Scanner boxes have been added and can break if a scanner's process is used while empty (50% chance) or if a xanafied warrior sabotages it.
Scanners with damaged boxes:
Cannot run diagnosis
Will not open when a warrior is devirted from them
A laptop has been added in this update to allow more players to control the SC and to have some programs available everywhere.
The laptop is an item that's unlocked through progressing in the gameplay, the requirements will not be revealed yet, but know they're related to completing advancements.
Laptops can be connected to various devices to unlock more programs in them, like the lab interface and scanner boxes. In the future, more places will be available for laptops to connect to.
Players will now have levels and experience associated with them, which will be reflected in their experience bar. The maximum level a player can have is 20, while the minimum is 1.
XANA's level controls how many attacks it can trigger at once. It's calculated based on the average level of the players online. Players can gain levels deactivating towers and stopping core attacks.
PVP has been enabled on Earth for players that are on opposing factions (Xana and LW). This means that xanafied people will be able to hit and knock out lyokowarriors and viceversa.
To enhance this PVP, various items scattered around kadic have been added to use against enemy players and spectres. Other useful items have also been added to counteract attack effects.
The items added are:
Shovel (Weapon & Cuts roots)
Axe (Weapon & Cuts roots)
Baseball Bat (Weapon)
Food Tray (Weapon & Deflects beams)
Watering Can (Weapon)
Mirror (Deflects beams)
Mask (Prevents pollen poisoning)
Jacket (Prevents freezing during snowstorms)
Headphones (Prevents hearing deadly music)
Parasol (Prevents sunburns during heatwaves)
Rubber Boots (Prevents lightning strikes during thunderstorms)
Screwdriver (Allows you to repair elevator panels)
Awareness is a new mechanic that measures how aware the outside world is of XANA's presence/involvement in current events. It naturally fades away, but most attacks increase it slightly over time. If it reaches 100% the players are prompted to use the return to the past to avoid getting discovered.
Awareness can be checked through the new Threat Control program in the interface and using the TV when no attacks are active. News regarding awareness will appear orange.
A new kind of attack has been added. These attacks are debugged through the interface in Sector 5 and later fixed from the interface in the lab with the diagnosis program.
All the new attacks in this category are:
Scanner Bug (The scanners' destination becomes random)
Superscan Obfuscation (The superscan can no longer provide tower numbers or sectors)
Superscan Indetermination (The superscan can detect activated towers, but not who activated them)
Energy Stagnation (Towers will no longer grant energy on deactivation. Energy transfers become impossible)
Energy Suppression (No free energy on virt)
Virtual Protection Weakening (Towers and Core take double damage)
Maze Lockdown (Sector 5 timer is halved to protect data further)
RTTP Control (The RTTP begins activating by itself)
Rising Sea (Locks a sector after the timer ends, everyone inside is sent to the frontier)
Visual Terrain Obfuscation (Vmap becomes unable to show terrain correctly)
Visual Entity Mask (Vmap becomes unable to show entities)
Regeneration Suppression (Disables healing using towers)
The sector 5 dome elevator will begin cycling when the key is pressed. After that, it will cycle all the maze exits until it's done. Once it's complete, it will check if there's any player riding it, then go to the celestial dome if that's the case.
Fixed some towers lacking the tower interior biome.
Fixed scanner rescuing you from game over if it happens while devirtualizing.
Fixed scanners not regenerating health when manually devirtualizing.
Fixed core terminal not being able to create a vehicle if you're too far to its left.
Fixed “acceeder” instead of “acceder” in the spanish translations of the Hiroki advancement.
Fixed mountain tunnel not having the carthage dome biome
Fixed scanner being able to be activated and exiting it quickly (It will now result in the scanner process failing instead of transfering you while outside)
Fixed overvehicle passengers being considered “in towers” when exiting a waytower or tunnel sequence.
Older/Low spec PCs might fail to load the resourcepack ("Resource reload failed"). We're looking into fixing this issue but in the meantime try installing Modern Fix.
The factory elevator will leave the player behind sometimes after locking and unlocking the elevator due to barriers being left behind. This bug is purely visual.
Comcard player icons and devirt models will disappear or have incorrect UV while using shaders or not using the recommended pack.
Program windows will disappear if you're too far very soon. This is intentional to prevent client lag. If you still want them to render when far away, increase the entity distance in your minecraft's visual settings.
Arenas (including SpeedArenas) at the arcade do not work.
A new easter egg advancement has been added in this update.
The advancement is related to a hidden program and location to connect your laptop to.
A hidden scanner mode, Injection, has been added in this update, although it's not fully functional yet and is limited to developers.
An Operator state/class meant to represent Jeremie's role was meant to come with this update, however the implementation proved to be not fun and the idea was scrapped.
Jeremiefication was meant to come with this update; however, it was delayed due to time constraints.
11 of the new advancement's names are easter eggs.
This update has one of the highest staff participation count out of all updates.
A new hidden weapon has been added that's still not available during regular gameplay.
