This update is mostly technical, improving on the old XANA launcher and reworking some of its Attacks.
This update was released on the 9th of December 2023.
XANA will no longer be periodic and predictable. Attacks now have a max time until they appear and their frequency isn't fixed anymore.
Some XANA attacks will now only appear when they can target someone in order to make all attacks feel like they do something.
Multiple attacks can now be active at once (up to 5 activated Towers.)
XANA will now have an "attack desire" variable, which will make it more likely to use attacks that haven't appeared before when available.
Returns To The Past will now make XANA stronger; they'll give it a cumulative chance to ignore player count and use a stronger attack.
Code XANA will now activate towers for XANA if the tower is deactivated and deactivate non-XANA activated ones.
It will also be inputted by default when right clicking a tower terminal while Xanafied.
- Satellite, Roots, NoGravity, DeadlyMusic, ElevatorLock and the Spectre attacks will no longer happen if there is no one on Earth.
- Root Attacks will no longer happen if there is no one to trap.
- Spectre attacks will no longer happen if no one is on a 200 block radius of the spectre location.
- Satellite beams will now use the same calculations as Seasonal/Weather Attacks to check whether a player is targetable.
- Nuclear Plant attack timer has been decreased (15min → 11 min)
- Now the energy will be released from the pylon at the 10 min mark, and the tower will self deactivate afterwards.
- After the energy has been released, players get a chance to return to the past to beat the attack.
- RTTP sabotage time between RTTPs has been decreased (10min → 5min).
- RTTP sabotage attack will automatically stop after XANA has executed 10 RTTPs.
- Fixed bug that caused players staying in place/going back to spawn instead of to their corresponding RTTP locations when the attack started.
- New SFX has been added when getting possessed or freed.
- You can now hide your particles on earth when possessed to fool others with Shift+F.
- As long as the tower is activated, you'll stay possessed. (No more devirting and bye bye XANA!)
- Possession particle color will now fade towards the color of the entity possessing you. (TLDR: XANA will make your particles fade to red, Jeremie to green, etc.)
- If a xanafied player quits and the possession can't be moved towards another player, the attack will stop automatically.
- If a xanafied player is left alone in the server, the attack will stop automatically.
- Each xanafied player may only activate up to one tower now.
Vanilla team dependency has been removed from the server in order to make things like monsters and possession work.
Added actual logic for game overs for the server when attacks end badly.
A lot of new protocols have been added, each corresponding to an attack. Feel free to check them out from a tower's fetch menu!
- Since teams have been removed, all players will have a white glow when floating to the top platform of a tower.
- Translated votes, prompts and chat menus:
- RTTP vote prompt
- Color selection chat menu
- Devirt player selection
- Devirt prompt
- Sector 5 rooms will now only trigger a Monster ambush once on entry.
- Superscan will now play an alarm sound when a tower activates if it's open. It will also play a deactivation sound like the original Superscan. (Pre-I/O Update)
- Returns to the past will no longer forget their "saved data" after an execution.
- A tower door's phantom blocks might die when using a Overvehicle near them.
