A Tower is a structure on MRCL that mimics the behavior of Code Lyoko's towers. These can be found in Sectors.
Just like their Code Lyoko counterpart, their insides have a large platform at the base and a smaller one at the top.
All towers have an interface on their upper platform that can be used to deactivate the tower or to run programs on it. Right clicking this interface will automatically enter the Code LYOKO, but any other code can be entered by left clicking it. If the Lyokowarrior is xanafied, it will automatically enter the Code XANA instead.
Waytowers are special towers that have extra features than regular ones.
Towers are also an important source of Energy for Lyokowarriors.
The design of Cortex towers is based on Code Lyoko Evolution's towers.
Any tower can have any of these five activation states, distinguished by their colors:
XANA towers can occur at any time, unless the max amount of possible tower attacks has been reached. These can also occur if a xanafied Lyokowarrior activates one with 100 units of energy, but they won't have any attacks linked to them. If a tower is activated by XANA in your sector, you will also hear its roar.
Jeremie towers occur when any Lyokowarrior (non xanafied) activates a tower with 100 energy.
Hopper towers occur when you complete the decryption of Franz Hopper's Diary, as Hopper will take over the tower that has been used.
The only Tyron tower in the server is in the Cortex. It is always activated, and it is automatically reactivated shortly after a Lyokowarrior gets data from it.
A tower will usually award 100 energy to the Lyokowarrior upon its deactivation regardless of its state (unless it is neutral).
Similar to the Cortex tower, towers in the Volcano Replika will automatically get reactivated, but each one can only be deactivated once per virt. Unlike other towers, the Cortex tower and the Volcano towers only give 20 units of energy after their deactivation.
It is possible to activate towers from Earth using the Remote Tower Control program.
Waytowers are special towers with extra features. These allow the use of more codes and protocols and traveling between sectors. They only exist on Lyoko and there are four waytowers on each sector: 1, 4, 8 and 10. However, a waytower will become a simple neutral tower if the sector it leads to is destroyed.
If deactivated, waytowers can be distinguished from neutral towers by their color. They have a cyan halo, just a little bit lighter than the blue one of regular towers.
Note that Sector Five's tower, while it may be tower 1, is not a waytower.
As of the Uncharted Territory Update, the sector traveling system has changed a lot. Jumping off the platform in towers 4, 8 and 10 will take you to tower 1 in a different sector.
Tower 1 is the Access Waytower, all other waytowers that lead to another sector end up in this one, including Sector Five's tunnels. These don't lead anywhere. Additionally, they possess a gray S-shaped cable on their side.
Towers 4, 8 and 10 are Road Waytowers, they lead to Access Waytowers on other sectors. Additionally, they possess a black flat cable on their side.
Surface sectors have an order that can be used for this. The order is Desert > Forest > Mountain > Ice. (As a tip, you can attempt to remember “DFMI” to memorize waytowers)
You can also go to a different sector while riding an Overvehicle. This can be done by approaching the entrance of the tower with it.
XANA is able to redirect waytowers when they're activated.

Towers can not yet be used to destroy sectors. However, it is still possible to accomplish by destroying Lyoko's core in Sector Five.
While the sector is still in the middle of destruction, towers will not let anyone enter them.
Sectors can be rebuilt using the Sector Builder program, unlocked through Knowledge.
There are different consequences for sector destruction:
This code will deactivate the tower and grant the tower's energy to the Lyokowarrior that entered it. It will also terminate every protocol assigned to the tower.
This code will automatically rematerialize the Lyokowarrior after entering it. It can only be entered in waytowers.
Currently, this code does not actually destroy the sector, regardless of the warrior being xanafied or not. However, if a xanafied warrior enters it, XANA will take over the tower no matter if it was already under someone else's control. Do note that if the tower is deactivated when the code is entered, you will need 100 energy to activate it.
Towers activated using Code XANA will not have an attack linked to them, but can be used as decoys.
This code can only be used once per xanafication.
This code will open a tower's menu, allowing Lyokowarriors to activate the tower and launch protocols.
This menu can be used by entering the Code HOPPER in a tower, but it can also be accessed directly by sneaking + left clicking the interface. After that, the interface will turn into a clickable menu. Right click lets you interact with the buttons, while left click takes you back to the previous menu. Certain actions in the menu require specific Knowledge. Currently, these are all the possible actions in the menu:
A similar menu can be accessed from Sector Five's terminal.
The menu has a variation that can be toggled from the Virtual Menu.
You can also use commands to navigate and interact with the menu. You can enter “$help” in the chat while having a menu open to get a list of commands for the current menu.
Here's some trivia about towers!
